A bridge is used to replace a missing tooth or teeth. The teeth either side of the gap are used to provide a solution to problems such as an unsightly gap or problems patients maybe experiencing during eating. They can be used to replace partial dentures in some situations, providing a more secure “fixed” solution.

Gaps often cause surrounding teeth to tilt and move into the space. This can cause problems later with chewing and also lead to other teeth to fracture. The materials used to make bridges are similar to crowns and a variety of cosmetic options are also available. Your dentist can advise you on the options available.
